York FA under-17s’ representative squad beat their Scarborough counterparts 1-0 to win the Tony Aveyard Memorial Trophy for the 11th consecutive year.
Neither team threatened too much in a tight first half, but York gained command after the interval.
Midway through the half, Pat Evans scored the only goal with a header after Harry McMillan received the ball from a short corner and put in an astute cross.
York were unable to add to that strike due to good goalkeeping and a lack of composure, though Lewis Rhodes hit the crossbar with a 20-yard free-kick.
