North Yorkshire apprentice Rachel Richardson, who christened her first mount to Wolverhampton last week with a winning ride on Holy Angel, bids to double her course score on the same course tomorrow evening.

Holy Angel is trained by Tim Easterby, Richardson’s boss, who, unsurprisingly, is keen to get the gelding out again before he is re-handicapped.

And because Holy Angel’s latest all-the-way win, achieved in clear-cut style, was gained in an apprentices’ race, he escapes a penalty in tomorrow’s coral.co.uk Handicap.

This looks a tougher assignment than last week’s contest, but Holy Angel is in excellent heart and with Richardson’s 7lb claim helping his cause, he is fancied to score again.

Nap selection Newstead Abbey will be hard to beat on his first outing for David Barron in the Poker At coral.co.uk Maiden Stakes.

Previously trained by David Brown, the three-year-old showed a decent level of ability as a juvenile, albeit without winning. This looks a good opportunity for him to start his second campaign on a successful note.

Broxbourne, trained by Mark Johnston gets the vote in the coral.uk Mobile Betting Handicap.

The four-year-old made it third time lucky this year when winning by a handsome margin at Lingfield last time. The handicapper has exacted some revenge by raising Broxbourne 8lb, but the North Yorkshire filly, having struck form, may be capable of following up off her revised mark.

Flying Power (7.30), narrowly denied a hat-trick when beaten by Mica Mika here four weeks ago, and Monsieur Pontaven (8.30), a previous course and distance winner, are two others to note.

At today’s Doncaster jumps meeting, Close Touch represents Nick Henderson in the British Stallion Studs Supporting Britisih Racing Novices’ Hurdle.

Henderson had the most appalling day on this course on Monday when his leading Champion Hurdle hope, Darlan suffered a fatal fall at the final flight under Tony McCoy, an incident that left his trainer in tears.

Close Touch is unbeaten in three starts, one bumper and two hurdles. He looks a smart horse in the making.

This is his toughest test to date, but he is not one to dismiss lightly with Barry Geraghty in the saddle.

Coverholder was snapped up by Sue and Harvey Smith after he had won a selling handicap hurdle for Tim Vaughan at Catterick six weeks ago.

He could be a useful addition to the Bingley stable and he looks sure to go well in the eventmasters.co.uk Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle. Jonathan England has the mount.

Smith can also win the Faiveley Transport Handicap with the ultra-consistent Tahiti Pearl, whose latest win came at Sedgefield on Boxing Day.

John Ferguson could also be bidding for double honours, courtesy of Leicester winner Pine Creek in the Eventmasters Corporate Hospitality Novices’ Hurdle and Huntingdon runner-up Memorabilia in the eventmasters.co.uk Handicap Chase.
