THE Flat season finally reaches top gear tomorrow with the opening of the Craven meeting at Newmarket, which sees the exciting Sander Camillo making her eagerly-awaited reappearance - and also Beverley staging its first meeting of the campaign.

Sheriff Hutton jockey Paul Mulrennan has good prospects of winning the feature race on the Westwood, the £12,000 Music On The Meadows Here 16 June Handicap aboard Dig Deep.

A rare opportunity for Mulrennan for Newmarket trainer William Haggas, Dig Deep comes here in good heart after a recent narrow defeat by Harry Up on the all-weather.

Well enough drawn in stall 11 in the 19-strong field, Dig Deep, a stablemate of Lincoln winner Very Wise, has every chance of coming out on top in a race, which features a whole host of well-known northern sprinters, including Fullandby, Wyatt Earp, Desert Commander and Carribbean Coral.

The Rapid Lad Handicap, named after that ultra-popular former course specialist, looks a good opportunity for Choristar to open his seasonal account.

A winner over this course and distance last August, John Mackie's gelding failed by only a head to catch Apex at Warwick's Easter meeting. A reproduction of that performance will make him hard to beat.

Artdeal will be a tough nut to crack in the beverley-racecourse.co.uk Maiden Stakes.

A good second to the useful-looking Fat Boy on his debut at Kempton 11 days ago, Mark Wallace's juvenile should make a bold bid to capitalise on that experience and go one better from a favourable high draw.

Nap selection Last Flight should not be overlooked in the Racing Here Again Next Thursday Fillies' Handicap.

John Dunlop's Sussex raider shaped with some promise over a mile in three races last autumn. A daughter of In The Wings, she should relish this step up to a mile-and-a-half and looks attractively weighted in her first handicap.

Sander Camillo makes her seasonal debut in the £50,000 Shadwell Nell Gwyn Stakes, the feature race on the opening card of the year at Newmarket.

Impressive winner of the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket's July course, Jeremy Noseda's filly looked top-notch and the only disappointment was that she missed the Lowther Stakes at York in August after a minor setback and didn't race again.

Now back in good health and firmly on course for the 1,000 Guineas, the exciting Sander Camillo can enhance her Classic claims tomorrow.

Hamoody gets the vote in the Sporting Index European Free Handicap. Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt won two of his three starts last season, most notably the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood. He will be hard to beat in the hands of Frankie Dettori.

Mark Johnston's highly-regarded Eradicate (2.00), a very promising runner-up on his debut at Newcastle, and the potentially smart Shevchenko (4.55), a stablemate of Sander Camillo, are also worth noting at HQ.
