THE highlight of Ayr's high-class jumping card is the £170,000 Coral Scottish Grand National.

Settrington trainer John Quinn is set to be strongly represented in this four-mile showpiece by Character Building, who was narrowly beaten by Butler's Cabin in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham last month.

That form has since been well and truly franked by the winner going on to land the Irish National.

Quinn, has, though, concerns about the fast ground for Character Building and will not allow him to take part if he is not satisfied with conditions.

He gets the vote, if he turns out, otherwise, Parsons Legacy could be the one to be on after his runner-up effort in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham.

The Ayr meeting sees Malton jockey Russ Garritty bring down the curtain on his 21-year career in the saddle, which has brought him more than 400 winners.

The 41-year-old rider bids to go out on a winning note aboard Lease Lend in the last race on the card.
