Have-saddle-will-travel is a policy set to be adopted by Flat jockeys now that the evening meetings have started, a fact illustrated tomorrow when Paul Hanagan takes in a double-header at Beverley and Southwell.

The Malton jockey has good prospects of making his mark at each venue, with Collette's Choice, his mount in the Go Racing In Yorkshire Fillies' Handicap at Beverley, napped to make a winning start to the season.

The four-year-old, who progressed nicely last season, looks the type to do even better this term and she hails from the Richard Fahey yard, which is in excellent form at present.

Sudden Impulse, who looked unlucky on this course last week when denied a clear run before finishing out of the money behind Choristar, promises to run a big race, but Collette's Choice is napped to have the edge.

Hanagan can also score on Contemplation at Southwell in the skybetvegas.com Handicap.

Previously trained by Mark Johnston and Alan Swinbank, the four-year-old has shown enough ability to suggest a modest handicap such as this is within his capabilities.

Back at Beverley, the feature race is the £11,000 Sue Has Got Her Bus Pass Handicap - a race with an instantly forgettable title - a seven-and-a-half furlong event, which looks a good opportunity for another of Hanagan's mounts, Handsome Falcon.

The Fahey-trained three-year-old won his one and only race as a juvenile on this course, and, although it is difficult to get a proper handle on that performance, Handsome Falcon looks the type to enjoy a successful second season.

Madaarek should not be overlooked in the Holtby Builders Ltd Handicap.

Ed Dunlop's colt finished third at Lingfield on his comeback outing, a race which entitled him to a handicap mark. He does not look badly treated here, and, stepping up to ten furlongs for the first time, he should go well in the hands of Richard Hills.

Geoff Oldroyd, who trains at Brawby, near Malton, has a fighting chance of lifting the Cleverly Retires Yet Again Handicap with Sir Bond, a horse owned by his principal supporter, Reg Bond from Pocklington.

Sir Bond found only the well-backed Shy Glance too strong at Thirsk last weekend. A reproduction of that form could see him going one better here.

Sir Michael Stoute does not send horses north for the good of their health and the Newmarket trainer looks to have a winning chance with Bedizen in the Constant Security Maiden Stakes. Nicky Mackay's mount went down by only a neck on his latest outing at Leicester.

Also worth noting at Southwell are hat-trick-seeking Whinhill House (6.10) and Mr Chocolate Drop (8.10). Both have shown good form here.
