CHOOKIE ROYALE has hit a purple patch of form which can continue with victory in the 32Red Conditions Stakes at Kempton today.
The eight-year-old has not finished out of the first four on his last four starts, winning twice – including when beating the reopposing Sir Maximilian and Horsted Keynes last time out at Wolverhampton.
Chookie Royale defied his wide draw to see off Sir Maximilian by two and a quarter lengths that day, with Horsted Keynes well behind after reportedly bleeding from the nose.
Keith Dalgleish's charge made every yard of the running, keeping on to good effect, and given they race off the same terms here, nap selection Chookie Royale has plenty in his favour.
The minor question mark would be whether he is as good at Kempton as he is at his favourite track of Wolverhampton – and while he probably does not thrive quite the same way, the Sunbury venue holds few fears as he has won there before.
SHAAN turned in a decent effort when second on her debut in November and can build on that in the 32Red On The App Store Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
From a winning family, Shaan found only Zaakhir a head too good when pitched into a similar heat over a mile, but her breeding suggests that may be the limit of her stamina.
Richard Hannon has opted to drop back to seven furlongs and Shaan would not have to find too much improvement to get off the mark.
GOOD JUDGE is an interesting Godolphin runner in the £10 Free Bet At 32RedSport.com Handicap.
He has had just two career outings to date, finishing down the field on his sole juvenile run before making a winning return after a long lay-off when claiming glory at Wolverhampton in October.
Godolphin do not have many runners in amateur riders' events, so it is intriguing that Saeed bin Suroor had identified this as a good opportunity.
FOR AYMAN has slipped to a highly workable mark ahead of the totepoolliveinfo.com Handicap at Chelmsford.
The five-year-old has only two wins to his name, with the most recent of those coming at Wolverhampton last April.
He triumphed that day off a perch of 69 and he is now on a mark of 66 after a string of indifferent efforts.
However, he finished with a flourish to claim second at this track last time out and could be well-weighted for a return to winning form.
NORSE LEGEND finished third behind the useful Gevrey Chambertin when last seen and the Bathwick Tyres Handicap Hurdle at Taunton offers him an excellent chance of victory.
He has dropped back to a mark of 124 now and can make the most of the likely heavy ground.
