THE Middleton hunt stage their second meeting at Sheriff Hutton on Sunday with the first race at 1pm.
The feature race and one of four classic races across the country is the Grimthorpe Gold Cup, run over four miles.
The opening race is the highly-competitive Hunt Members race featuring recent hunter chase winner Carlton Ryan up against Comedinewithme aiming to reverse the standings from last time they met.
The second race, where experienced riders must carry a 7lb penalty, has a field of 35 entries with All Great N Theory in strong form, with the challenge likely to come from Young Hurricane and Sportingfriendship.
In the Restricted race, Chilledbychoice and Asheanymoney are in form.
The fourth race, the Mixed Open Grimthorpe Gold Cup, is the highlight of the day and all arrows point to Monsieur Jourdain – the winner from the last three runnings with competition from Carlton Ryan, Max My Boy and Cheshire raider Tobougg Welcome and All Great N Theory.
Recent Askham Bryan runner Lady Nefertiti is one to watch in the Open Maiden race with Sundae Best a likely challenger.
The Intermediate race is a qualifier for the Red Mills final at Cheltenham in May, with Bedford Foresst and Agent Of Chaos two who could lead the charge.
The final race is run over 2m 4f and is for horses who have never ran under rules. Cloghouge Boy is in good form along with Thomas Patrick, from the Bealby stable, and Desimadonna ones to watch.
