Kevin Darley can hit the jackpot at Sandown's star-studded meeting this evening by winning the £90,000 Temple Stakes on Reverence.

The North Yorkshire jockey, who has recently moved from Sheriff Hutton to a base near Boroughbridge, renews his successful acquaintance with Eric Alston's high-class sprinter in this Group 2 test and is napped to come out on top.

A horse who swiftly went through the handicap ranks last season, Reverence is now plying his trade in Pattern company and showed he was up to winning at this level when finishing a highly-creditable fourth in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket earlier this month.

Five furlongs with some give in the ground are ideal conditions for Reverence, who I select to return to winning ways in this valuable speed test.

Sir Michael Stoute could have the key to the £50,000 Brigadier Gerard Stakes also sponsored by Betfair with Notnowcato, the mount of Mick Kinane.

A high-ranking performer, Notnowcato made a pleasing reappearance in the Group Three Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket's Guineas meeting when comfortably beating Kew Green and the Irish raider Tolpuddle.

There is surely more to come from the four-year-old as this season unfolds and another Group Three triumph looks on the cards for him this evening.

Malton trainer Richard Fahey has his horses in cracking form at present and his decision to send Freeloader all the way to the Esher course for the betfairgames.com Handicap is a hint worth taking.

Previously trained by John Hills, for whom Freeloader won over this course and distance, the six-year-old has run two fair races for Fahey this season and looks the type of horse who will pay his way sooner, rather than later. Royston Ffrench takes the mount.
