Bollin Greta, who made a most promising comeback at Doncaster last week, can show her rivals a clean pair of heels at Thirsk tonight.
Trained by Tim Easterby, whose horses are in fine form, Bollin Greta finished fifth on Town Moor, beaten less than three lengths, after meeting trouble in running. That was her first run since last July when she won at Doncaster.
A three-times winner in total, Bollin Greta should be all the better for her recent outing. If so, she should go well in the GT Group Handicap over a mile and a half.
French Art did Langton trainer Nigel Tinkler a good turn when winning at Pontefract recently and the five-year-old has every chance of following up in the Calverts Carpets Handicap.
Phil Makin has the mount on the North Yorkshire gelding, who won in grand style at Pontefract and should remain competitive in handicap company.
Tom Eaves, who rode a fine double at Chester on Thursday, takes a rare mount for trainer Roger Charlton aboard Significant Move in the Army Benevolent Fund Maiden Stakes.
Unraced last year as a juvenile, Significant Move, a son of Motivator, made a bright start to his career when beaten less than a length into second on his debut at Newbury in the race won by Colonel Carter.
Sure to be more streetwise this time, Significant Move should go well for his Malton jockey.
Mr Wolf has finished second in both his starts this season, at Pontefract, where he has such a good record, and at Catterick.
The John Quinn-trained sprinter is fancied to make it third time lucky in the Dick Peacock Sprint Handicap. Ian Brennan, Quinn’s good 5lb claimer, again has the mount.
We may be fast approaching the height of the Flat season, but punters tomorrow have to settle, remarkably, for a diet of three run-of-the-mill jumps meetings.
Alan King won’t be complaining. He saddles Masked Man in the Delamere Warrington Novices’ Chase at Uttoxeter and the gelding will be hard to beat.
Twice a winner at Kempton in recent weeks, Masked Man is in cracking form at present. A hat-trick looks on the cards for Robert Thornton’s mount.
Aberdale, trained by Jonjo O’Neill, contests the Betex PLO Novices’ Hurdle and should make a bold bid, following his 15 lengths success at Southwell last time out.
The excellent Richie McLernon takes the mount.
Also worth noting are recent winner House Of Bourbon (3.30) and the consistent Panama At Once (4.30), third at Perth on his latest start for Joss Savill but previously a winner at Hexham. He is sportingly napped to get back in the winning groove.
