Tim Easterby, on the mark on Knavesmire this week, can continue his excellent run of form at Doncaster this evening and at Ripon tomorrow.
The Great Habton trainer, whose Deauville Flyer ran out a determined winner at York on Wednesday, can score with Antoniola and Transmit at Doncaster and with Favourite Girl and Bollin Dolly, who is awarded the nap vote, at Ripon.
Antoniola won on Town Moor on his final start last season as a juvenile. He made an encouraging start to the current season with a solid comeback effort at Ripon and is entitled to improve again as a result of that outing. He should go well in the Multifab Metals Engineering & Fabrication Handicap.
Transmit was a winner for Easterby at Catterick last time out.
A big, strapping gelding, he has the scope to progress further and it will be a surprise if he is not competitive in the Gilks Fencing Contractors Handicap, again over seven furlongs.
Tomorrow, Bollin Dolly has excellent prospects in the Middleham Trainers’ Association Handicap.
In the frame in both her races this season, Bollin Dolly did not enjoy much luck at Pontefract on her latest start, being inconvenienced by the slow early gallop and then pushed out wide as she attempted to launch a challenge.
Provided she enjoys more luck in running this time, Bollin Dolly is expected to take plenty of beating.
Favourite Girl runs in the C.B. Hutchinson Memorial Challenge Cup Fillies’ Handicap. She has run two sound races this season, she has winning form on this course and, furthermore, Easterby won this contest 12 months ago with Ponty Rossa.
Remaining at Ripon, Richard Fahey has good prospects of enjoying a profitable afternoon.
The Malton trainer can score with the dropped in class Bachelor Knight (2.40) and Sunnyside Tom (3.40), who ran so well on his reappearance at Thirsk before being demoted by the stewards.
Also worth noting is Atlantic Beach (5.10), who enjoyed no luck in running in his latest outing at Thirsk.
Although he is probably better with more juice in the ground, James Hetherton’s gelding has winning form on this course.
Back at Doncaster tonight, Tangerine Trees is worthy of support in the Replace Concrete Repair & Refurbishment Handicap.
Bryan Smart’s sprinter has won both his races in determined fashion this season and may still have an edge on the handicapper.
