Irish trainer Gordon Elliott, leading trainer at Perth, can continue his love affair with Britain’s most northerly course tomorrow by landing a four-timer.

Elliott, who won the Grand National with Silver Birch, is a prolific producer of winners on both sides of the pond and the horses he takes to Perth are seldom there simply for a breath of Scottish air.

Nap selection Definite All Star ran well enough when finishing fifth at Limerick on his latest start to think that he can get Elliott’s ball rolling in the opening toteplacepot Maiden Hurdle, while Nedzer’s Return will surely take all the beating in the Exclusive Lodges Novices’ Hurdle.

Although a beaten odds-on favourite at Kilbeggan last time, Nedzer’s Return had previously been in unstoppable form. A winner over this course and distance, he is expected to return to the glory trail.

Long Wait scored for Elliott at Perth ten days ago and the gelding can follow up in the toteexacta Flexi Betting Handicap.

Long Wait had 14 lengths to spare over Tarkan on his latest start and, although he faces a stiffer task this time, racing off his revised mark, he should be hard to beat.

Shopfrontspe-cialist can round off another good day for Elliott by winning the Queen Tribute Band July 27th Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle. The seven-year-old finished a creditable third at Roscommon last time and, although he is no great shakes, this is not a race that will take a great deal of winning.

Also worthy of attention are Billie Magern (2.40), winner of both his races this season for Nigel Twiston-Davies and a wide-margin winner last month, and Go Silver Bullet (4.10). Lucinda Russell’s grey gelding finished a good third to Ollie Magern in the Perth Gold Cup on his latest start. A reproduction of that level of form should be good enough to see him home in front this time.

At Southwell, George Moore bids to complete a four-timer with Majestic Mayhem in the World Cup Free Bets At freebetting.co.uk Handicap Hurdle.

The Middleham gelding has looked a most progressive performer in maintaining a clean sheet this season and, with regular rider Barry Keniry on board, he can oblige again.

Mick Easterby’s Ginger’s Lad (2.20) should go well in the opening race off a light weight, while the useful and consistent The Ferbane Man (2.50) looks the one to be on from the Tim Vaughan stable in the novices’ chase.
