Norton trainer Julie Camacho saddled Beat The Rush to win at Ripon last month and she takes her stable-star back to the same course tomorrow in the hope that he’ll ring the bell.

The £20,000 Ripon Bell-Ringer Handicap is the target for the progressive three-year-old, who has won two of his four starts this term.

His latest success, on this course, was achieved in fine style from the well-regarded Boss’s Destination.

The handicapper has raised him 5lb for that victory, but Beat The Rush is improving with every race and is fancied to oblige again. Barry McHugh takes the mount.

Martin Lane, who like McHugh claims the 3lb allowance, teams up with Mushreq for Sir Michael Stoute in the Sky Bet Supporting Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap.

Lane, who bagged his biggest-ever win last Saturday at York when forcing home Wigmore Hall in the John Smith’s Cup, should enjoy a good ride from Mushreq, who ran out a convincing winner at Nottingham on his latest start.

Thirsk trainer Geoff Harker has his horses in tremendous form and City Of The Kings is fancied to go well for him in the Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap.

The five-year-old should now be cherry ripe after two outings this season and, having won on this course in the past, it would be no surprise to see him come up trumps tomorrow.

At Newbury, the £200,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint takes pride of place.

With a maximum 25 runners, this juvenile event looks a real lottery and, while Richard Hannon has a whole squad of runners, my eye is drawn to two North Yorkshire runners – Arctic Feeling from Richard Fahey’s Malton stable and the Kevin Ryan-trained Shoshoni Wind.

Both horses come here on the back of recent narrow defeats. They have every chance of figuring in the shake up of this wide open cavalry charge, and Arctic Feeling is narrowly preferred and is sportingly napped.

Markab has come a long way since he won the Great St Wilfrid Handicap at Ripon last August.

Henry Candy’s star sprinter has since finished an excellent second to Equiano in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

On the strength of that form, Markab should be very hard to beat in the Shadwell Stakes.

Ryan Moore can land the opening honours aboard recent Salisbury winner Measuring Time (1.45), while Distant Memories (3.55) is expected to go well for Hazlewood trainer Tom Tate.

Distant Memories showed immense courage to win at York last month under 9st 13lb and on ground faster than he prefers.

He has every chance of following up tomorrow, especially if the rain eases the Newbury ground.
