Les Fazzani can lead from start to finish on Knavesmire tomorrow evening to secure the feature race for Hambleton trainer Kevin Ryan and the season’s leading jockey, Paul Hanagan.

On what promises to be a bumper day of action for North Yorkshire racegoers, with a Thirsk meeting in the afternoon, York stages a six-race evening card, highlighted by the £40,000 EBF Lyric Stakes, which is the target of Les Fazzani.

On her latest start, Les Fazzani ran a blinder in the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock to finish fourth to Barshiba on ground quicker than she prefers.

Expected easier conditions on Knavesmire will suit Les Fazzani much better and this habitual front-runner may well get away with leading from start to finish under Hanagan, pictured above, who knows her so well.

Hanagan, who rode a double at Catterick yesterday, can add to his scoresheet aboard Cotton Spirit in the Co-Operative Good With Food Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

The juvenile has shown plenty of promise this season in his races and this step up to seven furlongs is expected to suit him down to the ground.

Cotton Spirit unseated Hanagan at the start on his latest intended outing at Ayr, where he had been a hot favourite, and was withdrawn. It is to be hoped he is on his best behaviour this time.

High Ambition can be another winner for Fahey and Hanagan in the Sky Bet Supporting Yorkshire Summer Racing Festival Claiming Stakes. The seven-year-old should relish this drop in class.

David Allan has struck up a good rapport this season with King Of Eden, who has been in outstanding form for Preston trainer Eric Alston.

The four-year-old, who has taken until now to mature, has won four of his five starts.

The handicapper is doing his best to keep pace with him but it would take a brave man to say that King Of Eden will not add to his admirable tally in the Seddons Property Services Handicap.

At Thirsk, Newmarket trainer William Haggas should make his presence felt courtesy of Jemima Nicholas in the Sky Bet Maiden Stakes.

The three-year-old has finished runner-up in both her starts to date. She is fancied to make it third time lucky.

Newmarket trainers should be noted at Thirsk. Sir Michael Stoute also has good prospects with the promising Giants Play in the Stanland Handicap.

Revue Princess represents in-form Tim Easterby in the Welcome To Yorkshire Hole In One Fillies’ Handicap and is napped to prevail.

The five-year-old won in grand style at Hamilton last week and looks capable of defying a 6lb penalty.
