Anyone planning to go to Redcar tomorrow will not be short of racing action courtesy of a bumper eight-race card and, although quantity far outweighs quality, Pepper Lane could add some spice to proceedings.

The David O’Meara-trained filly, a creditable fourth to Brierty at York on her latest start, previously had winning and placed form on this seaside course.

A return to Redcar for the Alessis Italian Restaurant At Saltburn Handicap is the target for Pepper Lane, who can resume winning ways in the hands of apprentice Ian Brennan whose 5lb claim will come in more than handy.

In the Goodswens Solicitors Selling Stakes, all eyes will be on Timocracy, who is unbeaten this season and who has welded together an impressive sequence of wins.

Trainer Andy Haynes has placed him to win all six of his races in selling company, the latest victory coming at Windsor.

Formerly trained in North Yorkshire, firstly by Mark Johnston and then by Tim Walford, Timocracy is fancied to complete a magnificent seven-timer under Tony Culhane.

Middleham trainer John Weymes is enjoying his best-ever campaign and Miami Gator, who has contributed to his 17-winner tally, has excellent prospects of obliging again in the Marske Vets Claiming Stakes.

The three-year-old has scored at Hamilton and Carlisle on his last two starts, making all the running on each occasion, ridden by Andrew Elliott. Similar tactics are likely to be employed once again with Elliott again set to take the mount.

A couple of winners this week have confirmed Neville Bycroft’s Norton yard to be in good form and Briary Mac could be another winner for the stable in the Leeds Building Society Handicap.

Danny Tudhope’s mount is lightly-raced but looks to be running into form and this modest event may be within her compass, following a fair effort to finish fourth here last time out to Very Well Red.

Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan could start the day with a winner, via nap selection Pandoro de Lago, in the Leonard Cheshire Disability Marske Hall Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.

Owned by Sir Robert Ogden, this juvenile shaped well on her debut at Doncaster to finish fourth.

The benefit of that outing should stand her in good stead here and she is fancied to shade Godolphin’s Menha, who was beaten into second on her first start at Kempton.

At Leicester, Pirate’s Song looks worthy of attention in the Leicester Mercury Family Fun Day Handicap.

Tough, talented and consistent, Pirate’s Song, trained by James Toller, won by a neck from Mrs Boss at Newmarket last time. Raised only 2lb for that success, he should again be competitive tomorrow.

Also worth noting are the promising Harry Luck (2.20) and Hel’s Angel (3.50), trained in North Yorkshire by Ann Duffield, and a Thirsk winner earlier in the season.

She may not have been entirely at home on the tricky Epsom course when third on her latest start.
