Thirsk-based owner and racing enthusiast Major Peter Steveney will not have to travel very far to see his colours carried tomorrow when his in-form mare Rosewin bids to flower again at Catterick.

The five-year-old was an emphatic winner on this course two outings ago, scoring by eight lengths. Raised 9lb for that convincing success, she ran a blinder off her revised rating on her latest outing at Newcastle, making John Forbes fight tooth and nail after the pair became embroiled in a tussle from over a furlong out.

The handicapper has raised Rosewin another 5lb for that gallant effort.

Her target tomorrow is the Turmeric Handicap and Norton trainer Ollie Pears has attempted to offset Rosewin’s latest hike up the ratings by booking the services of crack apprentice Julie Burke, whose 5lb claim will come in extremely handy. In the form of her life, Rosewin should run another big race.

The Dancing Lord can show his rivals the way home in the opening yorkshire-outdoors.co.uk Claiming Stakes.

Bill Turner’s juvenile holds the edge over his rivals on form. He has won two races and finished a creditable third in a novice event at Bath on his latest start. This drop in class should enable him to resume winning ways.

Norton jockey Freddie Tylicki has established a good rapport with Darlington trainer Michael Dods this season and the duo can gain another success with Prince Of Passion in the Book Tickets On-Line At catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap.

Although he has been a rather frustrating horse to follow, Prince Of Passion ran a good fourth to Ted’s Brother at Newcastle last time after making much of the running. He may not need to improve much on that to get his head in front.

Fast Shot gets the nap vote in the Tony’s 60th Birthday Handicap. A winner over this distance at Redcar two starts back, Tim Easterby’s sprinter has since run two good races in defeat, most recently at Doncaster last week when third to Shesastar.

Alan King is best known as a hugely successful trainer of jumpers, but he is also pretty adept at handling Flat horses and he can figure on the scoreboard at Lingfield tomorrow courtesy of Ishikawa in the Function Business Relocation Handicap.

The three-year-old was a winner last time at Wolverhampton and is open to further improvement after only five outings.

Amistress, who is overdue a change of luck, can find opportunity knocking in the Henry Streeter Fillies’ Handicap.

Piranha can gobble up her rivals in the Airey Miller Partnership Nursery over five furlongs. A decisive winner over this distance at Kempton, Ed Dunlop’s speedy filly does not look harshly treated off a mark of 75 for her first handicap assignment.
