Thirsk in the afternoon, York in the evening – the county’s race-goers can look forward to a double-header of action tomorrow, with the added attraction for music fans of Blondie playing live on Knavesmire once the racing fare has concluded at 8.30pm.

The European Breeders’ Fund Lyric Stakes takes pride of place at York, and this Listed race over an extended ten furlongs looks a good opportunity for Frankie Dettori to keep his York supporters smiling aboard Sajjhaa, bidding to make it third time lucky this season.

Godolphin’s high-class filly, running in this race instead of taking up the option of Saturday’s Group 2 SkyBet York Stakes, finished second to Midday in the Middleton Stakes on this course in May.

Since then she has contested the Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes, in which she finished a good fourth. Now dropped in class, Sajjhaa is fancied to open her 2011 account and notch her fourth career success.

Westow trainer Paul Midgley has strong claims in the Seddon Property Services Handicap over six furlongs, in which he saddles Nomoreblondes and Toby Tyler.

Nomoreblondes has preference after winning well here earlier in the month and has since finished third at Haydock. She is in the form of her life and smart apprentice Luke McNiff has established a good rapport.

Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan can figure among the winners on Knavesmire by completing a double.

Holy Roman Warrior represents the Malton duo in the Batleys Cash And Carry Stakes and this likeable colt is expected to relish the step up to seven furlongs after twice finishing in the money at Ayr over six furlongs.

Crimson Cloud tackles an extended five furlongs in the Welcome To Yorkshire Action Packed Outdoors Handicap. The three-year-old has run some solid races in defeat this season.

Provided she gets away well, she should be involved in the finish, along with a filly of a similar name, Crimson Knot, trained by Alan Berry, who has a couple of decent chances at Thirsk.

The Lancashire trainer can score with Andrasta, who looks to be coming to hand, in the Welcome To Yorkshire Events & Festivals Handicap, while Royal Blade, a winner at Ayr earlier in the week, has every chance of defying a 6lb penalty in the Racing Again Thirsk Next Friday Apprentice Handicap.

Kevin Ryan can hit the target with nap selection O’Gorman in the British Stallion Studs Maiden Stakes.

A beaten favourite on his debut at Doncaster, O’Gorman ran too keenly before fading to finish fifth. That experience and the drop back to five furlongs should make him hard to beat.
