Green Destiny, who hit the jackpot at York earlier this month, can hit another at Glorious Goodwood tomorrow.

The four-year-old, trained at Newmarket by William Haggas, came from last to first to win the John Smith’s Cup on Knavesmire on his latest start and is fancied to follow up in the £125,000 totesport Mile.

Apprentice Adam Beschizza, who rode him with admirable coolness and panache at York, takes the mount again on Green Destiny, who has a 3lb penalty to overcome.

A horse held in high regard by Haggas for some considerable time, Green Destiny failed to do himself justice when unplaced on soft ground at Royal Ascot last month, but he came good with a vengeance in North Yorkshire when Beschizza set him alight entering the final two furlongs and brought him home more than three lengths clear of his rivals led by Modun.

Green Destiny looks a definite Pattern-race winner in the making. Tomorrow will, almost surely, be his final appearance in a handicap. He can make it a winning one.

Mark Johnston, already on the scoresheet at Goodwood, one of his favourite meetings, has good prospects of adding to his tally with Jukebox Jury in the opening Coutts Glorious Stakes.

A winner on this course as a three-year-old, Jukebox Jury has since won at Group 1 and Group 2 level. He made a winning reappearance after a year off at Newmarket and is surely a better horse now as a result of that comeback outing. He is expected to make a bold bid.

Harbour Watch can win the Tanqueray Richmond Stakes.

Unbeaten in two starts and impressive at Newmarket on his latest outing when easily beating the high-class Burwaaz, Harbour Watch, trained by Richard Hannon and the mount of Richard Hughes, is expected to prove too classy for his rivals.

David Nicholls has a good record at this meeting, and the North Yorkshire trainer can win the Turf Club Handicap with Cadeaux Pearl.

The three-year-old has speed to burn, a fact proven beyond doubt at Catterick last time out with an impressive pillar to post win. That form has worked out nicely and Cadeaux Pearl is expected to take plenty of catching.

Nicholls can also make his presence felt at his local Thirsk course.

He saddles both Saucy Brown and Jarrow in the Peter Bell Memorial Handicap. Both were winners last time out and preference is for Saucy Brown – successful at York earlier this month – who is the better drawn of the pair.

Michael Dods has Spinatrix in rude health and the three-year-old should make a bold bid for hat-trick honours in the Helmsley Apprentice Handicap.

Successful at Ripon and Ayr on her last two outings, Spinatrix looks up to defying a 6lb penalty under Luke Rowe.

Also worth noting are Lady Jourdain (2.20), winner of her last races, and nap selection Miss Topsy Turvy (4.05), who makes the long journey from John Dunlop’s Sussex yard.
