Striker Ross McCormack vowed to ease Leeds United fans’ heartbreak after FA Cup exit to Rochdale was followed by a 6-0 battering by Sheffield Wednesday in a Yorkshire derby.
Next up for Leeds tomorrow is the visit of Championship leaders Leicester City and that challenge, insisted the Scottish international, would provide plenty of incentive for the hosts.
Said McCormack after a week of soul-searching among the Whites’ ranks: “We’ve been working hard on the training ground and we’ve been looking at videos of where it went wrong.
“If we cut the errors out the scoreline isn’t 6-0, but that’s ifs and buts. We’re all professionals and we’re paid good money to put on a better show than that.”
Of the visit of the rampant Foxes, the top scorer added: “We tend to do well against the teams we’re not supposed to. Last year Leicester and Palace came at a difficult time and we beat them both in the same week. We can beat Leicester, no doubt about it.”
