DENNIS Wise refuses to see Leeds' relegation clash at Hull City tonight as make or break.
Although Leeds could go ten points behind their rivals if they lose, Wise insists: "It's too strong a description. With 18 games to go, you can't describe any one game as make or break. They are all going to be cup finals and the players know that.
"It's an important game, for Hull and for us. Hull have got themselves out of the (relegation) group. They were struggling at one stage but they've dragged themselves out and that's what we've got to do. If we could win three games on the trot, it all changes."
Wise has set his players a target of 27 points from the remaining games and adds: "We have quality players but they've got to come out a bit. They've been up and down but we need consistency. If we get a number of them playing well, we are capable of winning games."
Wise has a long injury list and won't name his side until just before kick-off. "I can't pick from my strongest squad and you may be surprised when you see the team we put out," he said, adding that the injuries had not been picked up at the training camp in Cyprus.
Jonathan Douglas is back after suspension but Hayden Foxe is banned after picking up a fifth yellow card.
Meanwhile, Leeds have extended goalkeeper Graham Stack's loan until the end of the season but Wise admits he is struggling to bring in more new faces.
He said: "I've been trying to bring players in but the money side more than anything has hampered it. People have to realise this club is still paying a lot of money to a lot of players who are not here.
"It's not for the want of trying but it's difficult to persuade players to come here in the position we are in and clubs want a certain amount of money which isn't there at the moment.
"The loan market continues after tomorrow's transfer deadline so all is not lost if we don't make signings before then."
United haven't won away from home since their 2-1 success at Plymouth two months ago, and their Elland Road meeting with Hull resulted in a goalless draw. Hull were 1-0 winners over Leeds at the KC Stadium last April.
