Entries are now being accepted for this year’s Charity Cricket Cups competition.
More than 60 entry invitations have been issued to clubs in the competition’s catchment area, which is a 25-mile radius of York Lendal Post Office.
The competition is entering its 84th year and is the longest running evening cup competition in the York area.
While there has been a decline in entries in recent seasons, a dedicated Committee, supported by loyal sponsors Minster Engineering Ltd, and Stephensons Estate Agents, is determined to continue the competition and to maintain its objective of raising money for local charities.
In each of the last 17 seasons at least £1,000 has been raised and last year five local charities shared £1,250.
The closing date for entries is April 18, on which date the draws for this season’s competitions will be made. Further information available by phoning secretary Alan Robinson on 01759 373714.
