STUDENTS from the University of Law in York are pictured celebrating after winning the rugby union plate trophy at the annual Legal Sports Day.
The York site hosted hundreds of lawyers and law students from across the north as 35 teams competed for trophies in netball, football and rugby.
Past and present students from the University’s York centre in Bishopthorpe battled teams from Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle universities, The University of Law’s Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol centres and law firms Addleshaw Goddard, Berrymans Lace Mawer, DLA Piper, Kennedys, Pinsent Masons, Squire Sanders and Walker Morris.
The winners of the rugby union cup were Leeds Law Society, while the football cup went to Newcastle University School of Law and Walker Morris won the football plate.
The netball competition was lifted by a team of alumni from The University of Law Manchester, with DLA Piper Sheffield winning the plate.
