DERBY action ended in a 4-1 defeat for Acomb ladies I at home to their Yorkshire League division two City of York II rivals.

After ceding a first minute goal, Acomb re-grouped, but were unable to translate pressure into reward.

That proved costly as York hit three more goals without reply before Acomb’s late consolation from Georgi Wood.

The Tangerines’ goalkeeper Sarah Milburn was player of the match.
