NEW Earswick took a perfect ten points from their North Eastern Ladies Bowls League clash with Leeds.
In the home legs, Eve Firn, Kay Hutchinson, Annette Prosser and skip Majorie Watson lost the first two ends to go 3-0 down against E Waddington.
They rallied to win the next 12 ends to take a 19-2 lead after 14 ends.
They only managed to picked up two more singles in the remaining seven ends but still won 21-8.
In a very similar game on the next rink, Lorna Tordoff, Gemma Broadhead, Carol Williams and Pat Walker dropped a single on the first end to B Wherrett’s rink.
However, they won seven of the next eight ends to lead 17-3 after ten ends. Both teams picked up eight shots each in the last 11 ends for Earswick to win 25-11.
In the away legs, Moira Ellis, Irene Warrington, Sally Domville and Norma Davies stayed just in front of H Knapton's rink in the early part of the match to hold a 14-11 lead after 13 ends en route to a 22-13 win.
In the final rink, Doramy Bellwood. Colleen Raw, Margaret Pearson and Peggy Walker led C Eastwood’s team 13-0 after eight ends.
Leeds fought back to be only 14-7 down after 12 ends, but the Earswick rink ran out 24-13 winners, meaning New Earswick took ten points from the match and Leeds were left pointless.
