ACOMB 'A' continued their good run with a 6-1 success over reigning York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg UK Snooker League champions Malton 'A'.
Dan Potter inflicted the first defeat of the season on Malton's Dominic Spiteri, but Simon Weatherill levelled with a black ball win over Roland Cox.
Acomb then rattled off the remaining five games.
Keith Thornhill came from more than 50 points behind to beat Romain Reeves, while Nick Marchant's good safety and excellent long potting saw off Roger Ward.
Paul Holmes, Phil Carlton and Mick Borg, with breaks of 39 and 27 against Phil Hart, rounded off a fine win.
Heworth 'A' looked like running away with the match against their 'B' team as they raced into a 4-0 lead with wins for Neil Wood, Nick Dyson, Gary Douglas and Mark Winskill.
However, Pete Rivis, Andi Ireland and Martin Johnson, who had breaks of 24 and 40 to force Steve Burdett to concede with reds still on the table, made the final score 4-3.
Bootham 'A' had a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Acomb 'B'.
Stuart Martel beat Nick Goodacre, Rob Barron got the better of Andy Stone, Tim Fillingham cleared all the colours in defeating John Ashwell and Andy Wynn overcame Steve Rodgers.
Kevin Ventress replied for Acomb, beating Mark Darley, then Brian Henry had a black ball victory against Colin Robinson and Jeff Winter rounded off the scoring for Acomb with a win over Barry Rankin.
Fulford 'A' lost ground on the leaders as Bootham 'B' jumped into second spot with a 4-3 victory.
Fulford won the first two games as Andy Marshall's solid potting, including a 36 break, earned a win over Paul Scorfield and then Jim Lee hit a 36 break to snatch victory against Ian Robinson.
Bootham levelled the score with wins for Matt Smith over Jamie Husband and Paul Mahoney against Sam England.
Bootham then clinched victory as Andy Proud beat Alan Reed on the black and Paul Powell defeated Sam Parkinson.
Sam Wass put another point on the board for Fulford as he overcame Lionel Barnes in a black ball finish.
Acomb 'A' lead the table on 32 points, with Bootham 'B' in second place on 29 having played a match more.
They are closely followed by Heworth 'A' on 28 points.
In the Worthington player of the year standings, Acomb's Thornhill remains unbeaten, winning all six of his games, followed by team-mate Borg, with six wins out of seven.
