FOR the third North Eastern Ladies League game in a row York only secured three out of ten available points after losing 84-80 to Scarborough.
At home, Audrey Micklethwaite, Joan Knight, Kath Pepper and Hayley Macdonald showed admirable defiance to eke out a 28-19 triumph, but fighting back with 14 unanswered points from 8-0 down, Sue Jeffrey, Tina Robinson, Maureen Robinson and Pat Bracken had to settle for a 19-19 share-all.
In Scarborough, Pam Richardson, Margaret Sempers, Maggie Pallister and Pauline Armitage failed to capitalise on a storming 12-1 advantage after seven ends. Both rinks were locked at 18-18 before the last two ends, which Scarborough took.
There was defeat too for Michelle Ellis, Jenny Darrell, Dot Hill and Pat Potter, who crashed 26-15.
