A treble from Jon Wooldridge was decisive as Bootham ‘A’ prevailed 6-4 in a close tussle against Clarence ‘A’.
Martin Hood and Milo Cupik contributed two wins each as Clarence ‘B’ recorded an excellent 6-4 victory over York RI ‘B’ and, in a re-arranged fixture, a maximum from Paul Robertson was required to allow York RI ‘A’ to salvage a 5-5 draw against in-form Bootham ‘A’.
In division two, an excellent maximum from Alex McCarthy could not prevent University ‘B’ slipping to a 6-4 defeat to Ryedale@ RI and the improving Joe Wright was the star as Wetherby inflicted an 8-2 defeat on York RI ‘E’.
Father and son combination Mark and Luke Blackburn were too good as York RI ‘D’ recorded a 7-3 victory over Bootham ‘D’ and Gareth Bryning was undefeated as Bootham ‘C’ drew with rivals Bootham ‘B’.

Veteran defender Ray Mitchell recorded a notable victory over Bob Young and this was sufficient to allow Bootham ‘E’ to share the spoils with Clarence ‘C’.
BT ‘B’ thumped a depleted Crescent ‘E’ 9-1, while high flying York RI ‘G’ were pushed all the way by a battling Burnholme ‘B’ before securing a tight 6-4 victory.

Paul Lodder and Keith Hood were too strong as Crescent ‘F’ defeated York RI ‘I’ 8-2.
However, the high point of the evening was a much deserved first success in the York Winter League posted by ten-year-old Alex Robinson.
