YORK Ouse were crowned champions as First York Boccia Club held their annual invitation tournament at New Earswick Indoor Bowls Club.
A total of 34 athletes with learning difficulties and or physical disabilities took part, competing for ten teams from York, Wakefield, Thorne and Pudsey in two round-robin leagues.
The final was a close contest between Thorne 2 and York Ouse, with the home city side clinching the title on the last end with a match-winning five shots.
The runners up in each league, Thorne 1 and York Dolly Mixtures, played for third and fourth places over six ends, with Thorne 1 winning.
