DRESSAGE rider Laura Milner is celebrating after winning the ‘Essentially Advanced’ Championship at the Under-21s Summer Dressage Championships at Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire.
The 15-year-old competed in the Challenge Weekend on her 14-year-old gelding Lyndon Hall, whose stable name is Tommy, and was delighted to win both the Advanced Medium and the Advanced tests. She was also awarded Reserve Champion for the ‘Frederika Junior FEI’ competition.
Milner said: “It was quite scary as I was one of the youngest competitors and had never competed in an intermediate test at that level before. Tommy and I had a great test though and I got my best ever score of 71.56 per cent, and that was from List 1 judge Lady Inchcape, so I was really pleased.”
Milner, daughter of rally champion Jonny Milner, is sponsored by Pocklington business Bond International and is trained by Verity Franks and former GB Team Pony trainer Ian Woodhead.
Milner and Tommy’s next competition will be the Sheepgate Tack and Togs Championship in Boston on August 20 and 21.
