NORTH Yorkshire ace Simon Dyson today bids to shake away his Abu Dhabi doldrums in the second event of the European Tour’s desert swing.
The Volvo Golf Champions event, which starts at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain, is also Dyson’s second appearance of the season.
A week ago his involvement, after a near two-month absence during which he got married, at Abu Dhabi ended at the earliest stage, failing by one shot to make the midway cut.
His world ranking dipped a single place to 66 after that inauspicious start to his 2011 campaign.
The 33-year-old will be hoping any rustiness will finally be dispelled today when he tackles the Colin Montgomerie-designed course alongside fellow Brit David Howell and Sweden’s Michael Jonzon.
Harrogate Golf Club’s John Parry was one of the earlier starters in the 1.7 million euro tournament in tandem with a Scandinavian duo, Peter Hedblom of Sweden and Denmark’s Jeppe Huldahl.
