DAVID THOMAS and Jess Bacon were the male and female winners in York Triathlon Club’s first ten-mile bike time trial series.
The series included three events in May, June and July, starting in Wheldrake and heading towards Escrick and Skipwith, back through Thorganby and finishing near Wheldrake allotments.
A total of 42 members took part in at least one event, with 14 people completing all three events in the series. The fastest man was Thomas, who clocked 23 minutes 26 seconds, while Bacon recorded the fastest women’s time of 24-14.
In the overall series rankings, Thomas beat second-placed Richard Sharp, with Mark Lawrence in third, while Bacon was followed by second-placed Abey Lawrence and third-placed Fiona Beard.
