THERE was a canny clean sweep completed by City of York Athletic Club athletes Lucy Hadaway, Alice Linaker and Katie Bohl in a county clash.
They came first, second and third respectively in the under-15 girls’ pentathlon at the North Yorkshire open indoor Pentathlon Sheffield Arena meeting.
Hadaway led the way of the three-strong York contingent, posting a personal best score of 2,665 points on her way to overall victory.
Second place went to club-mate Linaker, who suffered a rare defeat in amassing 2,622 points.
While Bohl was third, she was among the most delighted competitors at the Sheffield meeting, as her new personal best tally of 2,203 points included no fewer than six best performances in her individual events.
