CITY of York Athletic Club under-15s pentathlon duo Lucy Hadaway and Alice Linaker are ranked one and two in Yorkshire after starring at the British Indoor Multi Events Championship in Sheffield.
Hadaway, 13, produced an excellent display of high jumping at the Sheffield Arena, winning her group with a clearance of 1.53 metres, a club indoor record.
Her score of 2,918 points ranks her as number one in Yorkshire.
Linaker, 14, is ranked number two after a points score of 2,796.
A personal best in the 60 metre hurdles of 9.42 seconds ranks her number two in that event, behind Hadaway, who is number one with 9.41 seconds.
Overall, Hadaway won bronze in the northern competition and finished eighth nationally, while Linaker finished 11th nationally and fourth in the northern section.
Fellow City of York athlete Katie Bohl, 13, finished 35th nationally and also got a personal best in the hurdles with 10.54 seconds.
In-form Hadaway had won a bronze medal the previous weekend in the long jump at the UK Indoor Championships in Sheffield with a leap of 5.19 metres.
