HAXBY Town’s stay at the top of the York FA Under-19s Football League was short-lived as they lost 6-5 at Thorpe United.
Hat-tricks from Tommy Butterfield and Ben Blackwood did the damage for fourth-placed Thorpe, while the Haxby marksmen were Dave Fell, Myles Frodsham, Harry Moorcroft, Liam Brighton and Dan Clipston.
Dringhouses went back to the top with a 6-1 win at Wigginton Grasshoppers.
Cameron Mulhearn netted twice and there were also goals for Sam Lake, Tom Hawksby, Liam Robertson and Kris Douglas. Brad Winters replied for Wiggy.
At the other end of the table, Sam McAllister netted 11 goals in Wilberfoss’ 15-1 rout of basement side Acomb Athletic.
Joe Dyrdal got two and Connor Mathie one to add to an own goal as Foss picked up only their second win of the season.
Stillington and Rawcliffe played out a 3-3 draw.
Dean Codona added to a Dan Dickenson brace for Stillington, while Kieron Nelson, Dylan Howlett and Oscar Massey were on target for Rawcliffe.
Third-placed Tockwith kept pace with the leaders courtesy of a 6-1 home win over Fulford.
Jack Swindlehurst bagged five goals and Ben Blackwood got the other, while Paddy Wintie got the visitors’ consolation.
York Cubs lost 4-1 at home to York RI. Will Edmonds scored for Cubs, but his strike was eclipsed by goals from Olly Steven James, Brad Urquhart, Tom Brooks and Judah Crocket.
