YORK Schoolboys Under-11s have qualified to represent Yorkshire in the North of England schoolboys district football competition at Sunderland’s Academy in March 2015.
Teams from Leeds, Sheffield, Barnsley, Scarborough and York competed in a round robin event to establish who would pick up the two qualifying spaces, with Leeds finishing first and York second.
York’s Harry Tinker and George Turbine were outstanding throughout the tournament.
Two late goals from Myles Jackson in York’s final game - a 2-1 victory over Barnsley - sealed the second qualifying spot.
The successful squad included Todd Edgar, Isaac Meehan, Turbine, Jack Hughes, Joe Stamp, Elliot Heath, Jackson, Tinker, Oliver Kilvington and Will Hollings.
