YORK Schoolboy Under-11s won through to the semi-finals of the Green Un Cup after a 5-1 victory over Scarborough.

Goals from prolific striker Elliot Heath (2), Oliver Walsh, Joe Stamp and Will Hollings secured a last-four meeting with a strong Leeds side.

With Joe Watt and Jack Hughes dominating the early midfield exchanges, Heath opened the scoring on 12 minutes after great work down the right from Harry Tinker.

Five minutes later, Heath netted again following fine play by midfielder Zac Cottle.

After the break, a superb display from the Scarborough keeper prevented a heavier defeat for his team, but he was still beaten by Walsh, Stamp and Hollings before the Seadogs grabbed a consolation.

Dan Myers was named man of the match, with Taylor Bell and Cottle also impressing.

York Schoolboy U13s crashed out of the ESFA National Cup, meanwhile, following an 8-2 thrashing at Sheffield with Rob Guilfoyle and Dom Jackson getting the consolation efforts.

The defeat represented the Minstermites’ first competitive loss of the season and Guilfoyle and Jackson both went close early on but, after clipping the crossbar, Sheffield forged in front when a left-wing cross was headed in by the advancing right-back.

On the stroke of half-time, some fantastic one-touch football then crafted the move of the first period but, after the home defence was opened up, Guilfoyle was denied by a great save.

The first ten minutes after the restart proved decisive, however, as Sheffield went 4-0 up.

Guilfoyle reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after Joe Crosby had been brought down but two quick counter attacks saw the visitors fall further behind.

A second York goal followed when Jackson pounced after Charlie Ward’s neat turn and pass teed up Crosby for a shot that forced a full-stretch parry.

The away team were caught on the break two more times, however, before the final whistle.

A brace from skipper David Barber and Kieran Bidgood’s goal earned York Schoolboy U15s a 3-1 triumph over Hambleton & Richmond, with Harry Shepherd taking the man-of-the-match honours.
