HEWORTH lifted the York FA Under-15s Intermediate (Senior) Minor Cup after a 2-0 win over Brooklyn.
Harry Sutcliffe had a 20-yard strike headed off the line by Brooklyn’s James Mudd as it took 75 minutes to break the deadlock.
Heworth’s Ben Brown opened the scoring when he fired a loose ball into the net and the York outfit made victory certain with two minutes remaining as Chris Campbell drove the ball over the line.
The cup, sponsored by York MotorSports Village, was presented by York FA chairman Dave Morrill.
The York FA U13s Junior Minor Cup was claimed by Tadcaster Magnets Blues after a 4-1 win over Poppleton Tigers.
They took the lead after 15 minutes when Henry Copley scored from 15-yards following a through ball from Manni Denobriga.
Tigers struck back with a 25-yard effort from Ben Moss but Copley pounced for his second on 43 minutes after Denobriga’s shot rebounded off Poppleton keeper Tom Allison.
Denobriga was involved again when his cross was met from 12-yards by Oscar Butters and he had the final reward - volleying home on 61 minutes - as Tadcaster coasted to victory.
The cup, sponsored by Pavers Shoes, was presented by York FA president Roy Ellwood.
