RIVALS Knavesmire Primary School and Robert Wilkinson Primary School were crowned joint-champions at York’s Peter Feasby Hockey Finals. The annual celebration is held in memory of former Robert Wilkinson head teacher Peter Feasby, who died aged 48 in 2004.

The competition provided evidence of Feasby’s legacy as Robert Wilkinson were his school and Knavesmire Primary were coached Adam Cooper, who taught under Feasby.

Robert Wilkinson progressed through the initial group stages without a loss, conceding only one goal in seven matches.

After a drawn last-four clash with Scarcroft, they went through on penalties.

Knavesmire 1 scored 21 goals in qualifying without a reply, en route to a semi-final against Knavesmire 2, who were also unbeaten in the group section.

Knavesmire 1 booked their final place.

An enthralling final ended 1-1 and the teams shared the trophy.
