A QUARTET of cricketing pupils at Terrington Hall School have been selected to play for North Yorkshire.
Following trials in the region, leg-spinner Jonnie Eleanor (under-14s), off-spinner Charlie Hill (U13), wicketkeeper Toby Latham (U13) and fast bowler Jack Charters (U11) have all received the call-up, with the prospect of selection for Yorkshire later in the season.
As members of local clubs Sheriff Hutton Bridge (Eleanor, Hill and Latham) and Malton and Old Malton (Charters), the boys have been able to access the Yorkshire Cricket Board’s Pathways to Excellence scheme.
During Terrington Hall’s annual two-day two-innings U13 match against Durham School, Hill scored 138, including 23 fours and one six – the second highest score in the school’s 89-year history. The match ended in a draw. Meanwhile, former pupil Becky Glen has been selected for the U17 Yorkshire ladies team.
