A TEENAGER from Easingwold School has qualified for the prestigious Horse Of The Year Show, writes Joe Hook.
Izzy Rae, 14, topped off a successful year by winning a place at the national event at the LG Arena in Birmingham from October 6 to 10.
Rae, of Huby, was named the British Show Jumping Association champion rider for the 13.2 hands high category in her area.
She then came second at the Pony Of The Year Show, and picked up a third-placed finish at the Blue Chip Championships. Rae’s latest achievement saw her qualify for the 138 centimetre Show Jumping final at the Horse Of The Year Show with her pony, Thelma’s Gift.
She booked her place by claiming a top three place after three rounds of qualifying competition with jumps at increasing heights of 1.15 metres, 1.25m and 1.30m.
