OUTSTANDING Mount School under-13 netballers are celebrating success in the York and Selby District Championships.
In their pool games, Mount had wins against Queen Margaret’s School, Manor School and Huntington, but were unable to get the better of St Olave’s, losing 10-7.
The team moved on to the second pool, where they beat Joseph Rowntree in the semi-final 6-3 to tee up a final meeting with St Olave’s. It was a hardfought game, but Mount youngsters kept their heads and finished as champions after winning 6-4.
Rachel Blatchford, head of sport at the Mount, said: “This was a great result.
The girls worked really well as a team and played very well, especially in the final.
“We are all very pleased and proud of them all.”
