MEDALS and personal bests were the order of the day for Team Jorvik swimmers at the Harrogate Summer ‘A’ Grade 2 swimming meet at the Hydro.
Emily Hill, ten, started the PB tally in the 200-metre breaststroke in winning a silver medal and then went on to clock another best time in the 50m freestyle to bag a runner-up gong.
Her 14-year-old sister, Melissa, recorded a PB in the 200m breaststroke, but narrowly missed out on a medal. She also beat her best time in the 50m freestyle.
Esme Littlewood, 11, gained two PBs, winning a silver in the 50m freestyle and finishing fourth in the 100m butterfly.
There was a first-ever Yorkshire qualifying time for nine-year-old Phoebe Holmes, who notched PBs in the 50m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Yasmin Hardaker, ten, competed in the 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 200m backstroke and 200m individual medley and came home with three PBs and a silver medal from the medley.
Eleanor Cooper, also ten, claimed a PB in the 100m butterfly and took a silver medal in the 200m freestyle.
Georgia Kemp knocked 4.5 seconds off her best time for the 100m breaststroke and also got a PB in the 200m breaststroke.
Alistair Cooper swam in nine events and came away with a gold medal, a silver and a bronze, plus two fourth places and two fifths.
Meanwhile, Zak Moorcroft bagged six PBs at the Sports Aid meet and Jack Pears-Dorland returned from Wear Valley with a silver medal and six bronze medals.
Jess Buckton and Adam Falkingham competed at the Doncaster Dartes Sprint Meet at Adwick, with Buckton claiming three PBs while Falkingham gained a fourth place in the 50m backstroke and another four fifth places.
