NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC slipped to eighth in the Pennine League championship table after a 26-12 home defeat against Nevison Leap.

Nevison took the lead after 16 minutes at White Rose Avenue with a converted try.

The visitors extended their advantage after 32 minutes with an unconverted try.

All Blacks hit back when stand-off Tom Holmes crossed and then converted his own try to make it 10-6 at the break.

A quickfire two tries in the opening ten minutes of the second half saw Nevison move further clear.

The All Blacks hit back with centre Sean Malarkey crossing and Holmes again converting. However, Nevison sealed their victory with a converted try five minutes from time.

New Earswick’s man of the match was prop Dan Atkinson, backed up well by hooker Jack Carling and second-rower Chris Spain.

The defeat was the York side’s ninth in 17 games.

There was no game for sixth-placed Selby Warriors in division three, but Selby’s ‘A’ team were 42-16 winners at home to Halifax Irish ‘A’ in division seven.
