Full-back Dominique Algar scored four tries as York Ladies rose to joint third in the Women’s Rugby League Association Winter League with a 54-0 win at Dewsbury Moor.
Half-back Mary Tiplady and prop Carly Hilton starred, but it was an excellent team performance all round, and it sets York up for their clash with leaders Bradford Thunderbirds at New Earswick on Sunday (2pm).
Second-rower Teri Chu powered over after only five minutes, and quick hands down the line saw winger Ashleigh Hyde cross in the corner.
Centre Kelly Hall crashed over and York further increased their lead on the stroke of half-time when winger Natalie Marsland was first to a loose ball and touched down under the sticks.
Chu, like in the first half, got the scoreboard ticking in the second, before Algar got her first two tries, the second coming as she broke through the line and raced 80 metres home.
Hilton was put through a gap in the defensive line to score a try, to add to her four conversions, before Algar notched tries numbers three and four, Chu adding a goal.
Quick ball down the line saw loose-forward Becky Brierley complete the scoring.
