YORK Acorn ARLC 'A' romped into the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Men's League pre-season Forty20 Cup with a 48-12 win over Lock Lane.
The Blue and Golds led 20-6 at half-time with tries from Paul Cross, Harry Bromwich, Steve Waldron and Haiden Barber, plus a couple of conversions from Martin McTigue and Tony Shepherd.
In the second half further scores came from Nic Caldwell and Tom Wilcox-Harrison, while Bromwich, Barber and Waldron all added to their try tallies.
Shepherd kicked four conversions.
New Earswick All Blacks progressed to the semi-finals of the York & District Cup after defeating York Lokos 24-10 in the preliminary round.
All Blacks took the lead after two minutes when winger Tommy Hields collected a loose ball to race over, with half-back Liam Gargan converting.
The hosts extended their advantage when stand-off Steve Doswell crossed after side-stepping the defence, with Gargan again goaling.
Lokos hit back to with an unconverted try, but just before the break substitute prop Jack Stearman powered his way over for an All Blacks try, with Gargan converting for an 18-4 lead.
Lokos bagged a converted try, but the All Blacks sealed their place in the last four when second rower Pete Ritchie crossed and Gargan added the extras.
The All Blacks man of the match was centre Adam Kirby, backed up well by Gargan and prop Bobby Quigley.
