JACK STEARMAN wants his New Earswick All Blacks ARLC to keep their home fires burning this weekend - and then take that form on the road.
All Blacks are without an away win in the Pennine League championship one but are unbeaten at home, a record they want to maintain on Saturday when Newsome Panthers visit (2pm).
A host of players are unavailable, including Ryan Price, Ben Pulleyn, Bobby Smith and player-boss Stearman himself - leaving assistant-coach Dave Carling and last year's player/assistant Liam Gargan in charge.
Key forward Joe Hemmings also suffered another big blow last week, injuring his troublesome knee in his very first carry on his return from an eight-week lay-off.
But several will be back, including Sam Cooper, Chris Varley, Jordan Potter and Haiden Barber, and, given last week's display, when All Blacks defeated Allerton Bywater 30-16 despite having Steve Doswell sent off with half an hour to go for violent conduct, Stearman reckons his side should prevail again.
"We're at home again - we want to continue our good run and take into our away form as well," he said, "We have a few out but we should be more than fine - we've got 42 players signed on and everyone that plays will be good enough to win the game."
Selby Warriors will be big favourites when they host Allerton Bywater 'A' in the Supplementary Cup, while high-flying Sherburn Bears host Wakefield City in division four a week after beating them 22-10 away.
