NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC finished their season on a high note with a resounding 56-2 win over relegated Keighley Town.

The result, marked by a hat-trick by man of the match prop Wayne Foster, sees the York side finish their first season in the top tier in a highly respectable fourth place.

All Blacks also reached the semi-finals of the President's Cup and so, despite recent heavy defeats to champions Drighlington and leaders Sharltson, their final standing confirms their position as one of the leading clubs below the British Amateur Rugby League Association's flagship league, the National Conference.

Experienced hooker Alan Pallister got the ball rolling against Town as he brushed aside three would-be tacklers to score the opening converted try.

Keighley got on the scoreboard with a 15th-minute penalty but it was one-way traffic thereafter, with Foster getting things started with his first try set up by Pallister's pass.

Half-back Liam Gargan came to the fore by providing tries for substitute prop Jack Stearman and Foster, before second-row Al Davison got in on the act by racing home from 30 yards.

Centre Carl Pallister booted his fifth conversion for a 30-2 half-time lead and crossed the whitewash himself two minutes into the second half before leaving the fray.

Winger Dean Smith was next to score, picking up and sprinting home after Town had spilled the ball, with Gargan kicking the first of his two goals.

All Blacks' other winger, Tom Dale, went over from Chris Spain's pass before Jack Stearman got his second try and Foster his third, which came in the last minute and was converted by full-back Joe Stearman, who was one of New Earswick's stand-out players alongside Alan Pallister and Gargan.
