YORK Lokomotive ARLC must win at Milford Marlins today to have any real hope of a decent finish in the RL Conference Yorkshire premier division.

Both sides have won four and lost five games so far and defeat would leave either with only a slim chance of getting into the top-four play-offs.

The Lokos lost 22-6 at leaders East Leeds last week having travelled with a scratch side, which included veterans Mick Calam and club chairman Alistair Cole along with 17-year-olds Joe Johnson and Jack Maud.

They also lost Dean Winspear after only five minutes when he was knocked unconscious, forcing Cole to play his first game in a decade, and they lost Tommy Greaves, also to concussion, after an hour.

Lokos took the lead when Liam Watling impressive at stand-off, broke and found Carl Barrow to race away, Maud converting.

But Easts went 12-6 ahead at half-time and notched two more tries.

Jase Harper and Watling were the Lokos’ men of the match while coach Paul McDermott also praised Cole and Calam.
