YORK Lokos ARLC crashed to a 20-8 defeat at home to leaders Scarborough Pirates in the RL Conference Yorkshire Premier East.
The New Lane defeat leaves Lokos in third place in the division, two points behind the Pirates and level with second place Cutsyke Raiders.
The sides were locked at 4-4 at half-time, with Arran Thompson crossing just before the break to level.
Scarborough again forged ahead, but Lokos hit back with a touch down from Zack Hardy. Man of the match Matt Turner caused the Pirates problems with his running, but the visitors stepped up a gear to score two more tries to seal the points.
Lokos boss Paul McDermott said: “Scarborough are the best team in the league and we have to match them if we have any aspirations of finishing top of the league.”
Lokos travel to Rotherham Giants on Saturday.
