A 15-TRY romp put Selby RUFC in the frame for progress in the Senior Vase as they trounced visitors Winlaton Vulcans 97-3.
The Swans, who travel to Blyth later this month for their second pool game, illustrated the gulf in class at level eight in the pyramid between the Northumberland & Durham and Yorkshire leagues.
Full-back Dan Porter started the rout with a try on four minutes and, only three minutes later, skipper and flanker Duncan Hardy claimed the first of his four tries.
Number eight Martin Protheroe sprinted 60 metres for a try on nine minutes and Josh Cruise dummied over to make it 24-0 after 13 minutes.
Porter broke away for his second score and centre Iain Adamson then strolled over after 28 minutes. It was 52-0 at half-time after Hardy and winger Ben Lunt touched down.
Protheroe started the ball rolling after the break and Hardy quickly completed his hat-trick, picking up from a five-metre scrum, while Alex Arthur also crossed.
The Vulcans scored their only points when Selby were caught offside in front of the posts, but tries from Hardy, Porter, second row Brendan Lanaghan and winger Oliver Saunders rounded off the scoring.
Cruise kicked 11 conversions.
