ROWNTREES RUFC beat hosts Leodensians 20-10 despite travelling with only 15 players, ten of which were forwards.
Trees conceded two tries in the first 20 minutes, but a solid pack performance and strong running from Dave Knock and Dave Harder, who scored two tries, got them back into it.
Trees made the game safe late on with further tries from debutant prop Sid Haigh, from a rolling maul, and winger Mike Palfrey.
The win was Trees’ sixth on the trot, their best run in recent times.
